WAFER & DEVICE PACKAGING AND INTERCONNECT:
ANNOUNCEMENTS

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Computers using Windows v7 with Internet Explorer v8 may have a problem opening any digital magazine that's using the Olive software.  This is caused by a requirement in the software to be able see a copy of Adobe Flash.  And even after that's been added, a similar demand for the Flash to be added will appear the next time the browser is opened.  The cure for this problem is simple:  Install Mozilla Firefox, or any other browser and use that browser for activating the Olive digital magazines.

IMPORTANT NEW SERVICE

Visitors to this site will now find access to Sites for all major equipment, materials and service suppliers; there will be multiple URLs for most companies that allow direct entry into 2nd, 3rd, and 4th pages for a site, as well as the home page. Just highlight the Advertising Button and click on the Advertiser List (3rd line). All icons can be activated with a click on "Open Link in New Window." To return to the list, simply use the "minimize" button [-] at upper right corner.

Caution to readers opening back issues

The carousel contains the front covers of all available issues in digital format.  If the cover appears as a blank page with a small red x, you may correct the situation by using a different browser.  The problem seems to occur only in Internet Explorer  V8.

Searching for specific digital editions, articles, columns or ads

All editions -- current or previous -- are available in digital format that is downloadable, printable and interactive.   When any issue is opened, an extra page appears to the left of the front cover.  On that page is a chronological listing of all articles, columns, ads or other sections.  This is a very useful tool for quick browsing of that edition.   There is also a tool bar at the top of that page that allows the reader to search for all issues.  This search engine can transfer you directly to another edition of your choice at any time.

Important note for advertisers and readers

Since this is a brand new website for a brand new publication, some of the important sections of the site are not complete.  The buttons at the top for the Buyers Guide and the Advertiser List are actually copied directly from our other magazine, Vacuum Technology & Coating.  None of the listings are appropriate for WDPI.  But we're showing them here to illustrate the format for listings that will be added shortly.  This message is a request for all suppliers of  equipment and/or materials for usage in the back-end semiconductor industry to send us category listings for the soon-to-be-added WDPI Buyers Guide and Advertiser List.  There's no charge for inclusion in these valuable directories.  Simply email us the list of categories that you wish to be included under,  along with a file that contains your company's logo.  The logo will be used to link all of your listings into our various services.

INVITATION TO ALL EQUIPMENT & MATERIALS SUPPLIERS

The WAFER & DEVICE PACKAGING and INTERCONNECT Buyers Guide is up and running, ready for listing -- at no charge whatever -- your company's products and services.  Using information from websites and advertising, we've installed listings for sixty suppliers to the back-end semiconductor market, and more than 320 separate Product and Service categories.  If your company is included in the initial setup and you wish to change any information in the listings, a simple email to me at richard.cowan@snet.net will prompt us to correct the listing immediately.  All suppliers are invited to participate in the Buyers Guide; you may use any of the pre-selected listings, or create new categories that are appropriate for your company's products or services.

All we require to produce your listings are five bits of information:  The company name, the company URL, a current email address that will appear in your listing, a company logo (IMPORTANT FOR LINKING YOU TO OTHER FREE SERVICES as well as the BG, and a list of up to fifteen categories under which you wish to have your products or services displayed.  Every listing in the Buyers Guide will be automatically ineractive; when a reader clicks on the URL that reader will immediately be transferred to your website.  And a tracking device in the website will enable us to provide you with up-to-date tracking counts on the click-throughs you receive from the Guide.  This site is about to undergo a major advertising campaign to attract a global audience.  The click-through counts should be extremely strong.

If you have any questions about this new feature, please don't hesitate to call me at 203-454-5678.
